This Natural Abaca Basket is intricately woven into a unique black and white design.
Would you like to know how this basket was made? First the Abaca is dried before forming them into ropes, which are then dyed to a desired color. Then dried again. Once dry, the basked weaver weaves it using a mold. One senior basket weaver can make 3 baskets in 8 hours. Then the now formed basket is dipped into a glue solution to make it hard. And lastly, its dried out in the sun. When it rains, production slows down.
These Baskets are proudly made by the Basket Weavers of Albay. By purchasing this product, you support 4 villages of basket weavers we source our baskets from.
