Solihiya gained popularity during the 19th century Spanish colonial era. Solihiya is thin strands of rattan wood made into criss-cross designs or braided to form patterns.
This gemelina wood and solihiya bookend in oak is made by Haspe Design based in Tarlac, and was already showcased in several roadshows in Japan.
