We've got one Tingguian Tapestry from the Minas Clan of weavers from Abra. This is the only one of this design that they did in the WORLD!
The Tingguian weave from Brgy. Namarabar, Penarrubia, Abra, is a century old weaving practice that exists today. There are a few living weavers today who are skilled Tingguian embroiderers and natural dye practitioners who perfected the Indigo dyeing technique in Abra. Our friends in Namarabar confirm that only 11 people know how to weave this particular design. This kind of embroidery is unique to the Abra Tingguians in the north of the Philippines. As they have no means to transport these items in modern courier services, we had to personally meet the weavers themselves at a bus station in Pasay City to transport these heirloom weaves from Abra and make it available in Pinas Sadya.
Bring this one of a kind piece to your home and help in sharing Philippine stories to the world.
